Scholarship Details
Offered annually, the Scholarship for Emerging Leaders is designed for women in the healthcare industry. Each scholarship is worth the cost of one membership to Women in Healthcare. WIH awards 25 women the Emerging Leaders Scholarship annually. This is a scholarship for a membership only.
Eligibility Requirements
You may apply for the scholarship if you meet the following criteria:
- You are a student or professional focused in the healthcare industry.
- Membership cost creates financial hardship, no backing by current employer for membership fee.
- You are not a previous recipient of this scholarship.
- You meet the qualifications of a Women in Healthcare member.
Deadline to apply is May 1, 2023.
Award
The Emerging Leaders Scholarship is for rising leaders who exhibit a passion for the healthcare industry, gender equity and want to be a part of a supportive community. The Women in Healthcare Advisory board will award scholarships to the top 25 candidates that prove need, drive, and support the mission of the organization. Each application will be reviewed blindly and ranked by the selection committee based on these qualifiers. It is important to the Women in Healthcare community that the scholarship is awarded in a way that promotes equity, diversity and inclusion. This is a scholarship for a membership only.
The recipients of our 2022 Emerging Leaders Scholarship were 25 exceptional awardees joining our WIH community. Among the group is a collection of leaders who exhibit a passion for healthcare and advancing equity. We have awarded:
- Clinicians across the spectrum (i.e., doctors, medical assistants, nurse practitioners)
- Students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees as well as doctorates in public health, health administration, architecture, and operations
- New mothers balancing careers and life changes
- Professionals tackling gender and racial disparities domestically and abroad.
