The topic of resilience is so relevant today. From controlling the spread of the virus to business recovery, we are all challenged with finding resilience and balance in our professional, and personal lives. Join us for an engaging conversation with Dr. Cathy Cantor as she shares with us her journey in healthcare leadership. A dynamic and engaging speaker, Cathy will share with us perspective, insights, ups, downs and tips for success during this session.

Dr. Cantor is a triple board certified physician (internal medicine, pediatrics and sports medicine) with Saint Joseph Mercy Oakland Health. She has 14 years of experience as a practicing physician, health care administrator and health plan medical director. Dr. Cantor serves as a physician leader in clinical medicine, quality and population health management strategy. She has extensive experience with development and implementation of population health programs. She has also worked with health care organizations and health plans (commercial, Medicaid and Medicare) focusing on quality improvement, education programs, utilization management and patient access.

Dr. Cantor currently serves as Chief Quality Officer and Vice President of Patient Safety at Saint Joseph Mercy Oakland with Trinity Health. Prior to working with Trinity Health – she worked for ProMedica Health System as Senior Medical Director for Population Health and Medical Director for Paramount Health Plan. She has also served as Medical Director for Quality & Medical Services at Paramount Health Plan, Medical Director for ProMedica Health Network and Medical Director of Sports Medicine. Dr. Cantor served as team physician for Bowling Green State University and University of Toledo (2006 through 2011). She has been active with boards including Paramount Health Plan Board, ProMedica Finance Committee and ProMedica Physician Leadership Board and Wildwood Orthopedic and Spine Hospital Board.

Dr. Cantor holds a BS and MBA from the University of Alabama. She received her Medical Degree from the University of South Alabama. She also completed internal medicine residency at The Ohio State University Medical Center, pediatric residency at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and sports medicine fellowship at ProMedica Health System. She lives in Maumee with her husband Zack Shaffer and seven-year-old twins – Zachary and Emily.
