Dr. Willette S. Burnham-Williams is a senior leader in higher education with over 30 years of progressively complex executive roles. A trailblazer in developing strategic diversity initiatives and multi-faceted programs in small and large, public and private organizations, she has a strong, demonstrated business acumen, which she uses to help organizations align their diversity goals with their vision, mission and values

Assistant Professor and University Chief Diversity Officer & Title IX Coordinator at the Medical University of South Carolina, the state’s only academic health science center, Burnham-Williams is the senior strategist for diversity. She successfully leads the implementation of MUSC’s inaugural strategic plan for diversity, equity and inclusion. A member of the President’s University Leadership Council, she spearheads strategic goals and objectives for transforming the organizations culture of inclusion and engagement.

Dr. Burnham-Williams holds a BA from Trinity College, Hartford, Connecticut and a MEd and PhD in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina. She completed 2 post-doctorate certificate programs: Health Care Executive Leadership in Diversity and Inclusion from Georgetown University, Washington, DC and Harvard University’s Summer Institute for Educational Management (IEM).
